Etxe Artist Sound Designs for "Colony"
Silo Halo / Teething Veils’ Greg spent part of the summer designing sound for Kelly Bond and Melissa Krodman’s “Colony,” a dance / performance piece that earned praise at this year’s Capital Fringe Festival. The show is now making its way to Philly for a 3-date run at Pig Iron Studio One September 15-17.
"Like listening to minimalist music by Steve Reich, you slowly start to focus; noticing subtle shifts in movement becomes the show. Bond and Krodman run in sync; they run silently on their toes; they run with their feet moving in diagonals, like a trotting zebra."
-Washington Post (Editor's Pick)
"Recommending dance is always tricky. Recommending anything by Melissa Krodman isn't. In this piece Krodman and Kelly Bond perform a 50-minute dance duet. Krodman, whether dancing, clowning, hosting or generally entertaining, is a solid bet."
-Huffington Post (Top 10 Picks)
"As is par for performance art, reactions fell across a spectrum of amazed to annoyed, with many landing somewhere near confused. It is an experiment in audience manipulation, in how to craft an energy that envelops a room and control it. Bond and Krodman do this and they do it well, wordlessly, effortlessly and unapologetically. "
