2018 Updates - Two New Releases! Live Shows!

We've got all kinds of updates to kick off 2018 -- our 10th year of official operations as an artist-driven record label cooperative.  On January 20th, 2018, we will release our first mulit-artist collection: "Etxe Records at 10 Years: A Compilation".

Every artist on Etxe has contributed rare and unreleased tracks to celebrate the milestone.  Girl Loves Distortion, Fangs Out, Silo Halo, Teething Veils, Ars Phoenix, The Red Fetish, and Near Northeast contributed 14 tracks.

If you are in the DC area -- please join us on January 20th for a night of live music at the Capital Fringe Theater celebrating the occassion. Come hang with us!

Activity abounds among Etxe artists -- here is a sampling of what we're all up to.

Girl Loves Distortion contributed their 2008 track "(You Don't) Speak for Me" from the band's first release Earth Beings on Exhibit to the Know Your City podcast produced by Los Angeles-based nonprofit LURN.  The podcast features interviews with grassroots advocates and leaders working for greater racial equity.  Check it out!

GLD's fan-favorite track "Tomboy" kicks off the aforementioned Etxe Records compilation.  Featuring rare lead vocals from Jenn Fox-Thomas - this track was a constant in the live set rotation.

Near Northeast have returned home to DC from their first international tour in Croatia.  True Mirror is on regular rotation at the Etxe Records HQ.  Have you picked up your copy?

In fact, we know you'll love NNE's brand new contribution to the compilation entitled "Clusters".  It's currently knocking off our socks.  Check out the teaser video here.  The band will closing out the showcase and we've heard that "Clusters" will be in the set!

The Red Fetish contributed two new songs to the compilation, performed by the Etxe String Quintet (Kelly Servick, Austin Blanton of Near Northeast; Claire Blaustein, Kylene Kiang of The Red Fetish; Hannah Burris of Teething Veils). Since the release of 2016's Non Sequitur, the band has been working on new music and related side projects. Alejandro Castaño will represent The Red Fetish at the Etxe showcase with new music for piano.

Silo Halo are back with a brand new full-length LP - the band's first collection of original music since 2014. The 10-track self-titled record features cover art by LA-based artist Rudy Espinoza and will be available on clear lavender vinyl.  Pre-order your copy today!

Silo Halo's video single for "Casa Alta" was directed by Julie Goett and premiered by our favorite Brazilian blog The Blog That Celebrates Itself. Keep your eyes open for additional coverage from our friends in the southern hemisphere.

The band will be playing two rare, stripped-down east-coast shows on January 18th and on January 20th as part of the Etxe Records 10 Year anniversary showcase.

Teething Veils will be performing their 100th live show as part of the Etxe Records 10 Year Anniversary showcase.  We are getting indiciations that the band is brewing up a special live set to mark the occassion in correlation with some of their more immersive abstract soundscapes.  Color us stoked! We can't wait to see what they have in store for the audience.
