After five years making an eclectic blend of folk-inspired experimental and electronic music together in Washington, D.C., the members of Near Northeast retreated from the city with Nashville-based Zimbabwean-American songwriter Takunda Matose to record a set of heartfelt songs on wooden instruments. Cabin Sessions captures the simplicity, spontaneity and warmth of these collaborations, spread across two cabins and two seasons in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and Maryland.
